As we enter the Labor Day weekend, the Bureau of Labor Statistics with ironic timing reports that the economy produced zero new jobs in August and the prior estimates for June and July were reduced by 58,000 jobs. In fact, absent the statistical birth/death adjustment, the United States lost 87,000 jobs last month.
