Blaming America First Lives On

Back in June 30, 1979, a defeated President Jimmy Carter blamed the American people for the energy and economic crisis of his administration in his infamous "malaise speech:" Listen carefully to the litany of Carter's complaints and how similar they sound to today. Earlier this week, an equally frustrated President Barack Obama went beyond his usual "blame Bush" buck passing to blame America for his awful economy, claiming we have "gone soft" over the past two decades: Has it ever occurred to these men that the buck stops with them?
