...now our President is threatening to stop Social Security, disability and veterans checks if the GOP does not agree to vote for his $1 trillion tax increase as part of a bill to raise the debt ceiling.
Amazing.

This is a breaking ball that didn't break and the Republicans should crack it into to the centerfield stands.
All they have to do is immediately pass a resolution that exempts SS and military payments and targets Obamacare and the most politically indefensible parts of the stimulus to make up the difference, and come out with it in a press conference. List all the stupid things that can be cut and then ask why Obama wants to cut SS first.
Obama is throwing combinations to the groin and the Republicans act like they're in a pillow fight. They need to talk to Sarah Palin about how to use the media and throw the occasional punch.
The GOP already introduced a bill to compel Treasury to service the debt. The Dems blocked the bill and the Dem media buried the story. Fox barely covered it.
The GOP is at a severe public relations disadvantage as the Dem media is in full support mode while Fox does nor provide the same unquestioning service for the GOP. That is why I suggested a change of strategy in my most recent post.
